One of the many creative projects I am currently working on, is a book called The It Girl Gene. As I have mentioned previously, I have always found the idea of “It” girls completely fascinating. The term was coined in 1927, when English writer Elinor Glynn described actress Clara Bow in the now-classic silent film, “It”.

Basically, I’m doing this because I feel like I’m at a sort of critical juncture in my life. I turn twenty in July. My teenage years are coming to a close, and the next chapter of my life is beginning. I guess I just want to document that. Over the next couple of months, I’ll move out of my mom’s house for the first time, into a house an hour away with my best friends in Denton, TX. In the fall, I’ll start college. And the way time passes by so quickly, before I know it, I’ll find myself knee deep in the formative years of young adulthood.
